世の為人の為に尽くさしめ給え

特に、豪商と呼ばれる人たちは、現在の会社の社長のように、多くの使用人を使っていました。社長といってもすべてが自分の持ち物ではなく、社長という役職を一時的に務めているだけといった具合で、その使命は利益を上げて社会に還元することでした。
暴利を貪らぬよう、消費者にとっても手頃な値段にし、会社が200年、300年と末長く愛されることを考えていたと言われます。つまり、自分にとって良いだけではなく、社会にとって良いことが求められていた結果として、会社自体の評判が良くなり生き残る、という循環があったのです。近江商人には仏教徒が多かったため、その商人道徳は仏教的な教えに基づいていたとも言われています。”
世のため人の為に尽くしなさいという精神は神道も同じだなぁ。業の話も然り慈愛の話も然りいろいろな分野、垣根を越えて調べてみたら心理は全てひとつなのかもしれない。と、最近思うのです。
